The bathroom, next to the kitchen, should be the cleanest room in the house. However, many of us keep the bathroom for last as it can be a disgusting area to clean. The all-purpose products that you may use for the rest of the house may be sufficient for the bathroom; however, you may want to invest in several more powerful products just for this room. Regardless if you have the right products or not, if you don’t know how to clean a bathroom properly, you’ll spend more time cleaning than you want to.

Before any cleaning can be done, and this goes for any room, it must be de-cluttered. Remove all dirty clothes, towels and rugs. Put away items that may have been left out. If your shower has a lot of soap scum build-up, you can spray down the shower with a soap scum remover and let it do its job while you remove and tidy up the bathroom. This gives enough time for the chemicals in the product to do what it is meant to do. Since the bath/shower is the biggest thing to clean, start here first. Clean the walls, fixtures and area where you stand. Don’t forget about the shower door or curtain. When done, rinse the shower well to remove all of the chemicals that were applied as well as any germs and dirt that was removed.

Learning how to clean a bathroom may differ from household to household, but the bottom line is still the same, you need to do it often and it needs to be clean. Once the shower/tub area has been cleaned, the rest of the room is a breeze. Next dust shelves and knick-knacks, clean the mirrors, and wipe down doors, moldings, fixtures and baseboards working your way from near the ceiling down to the floor.

The kitchen is usually one of the busiest areas of the house and is, therefore, the one that is most commonly in need of house cleaning. Because raw foods can carry harmful bacteria, it is essential that you clean your kitchen thoroughly and often. By using just a few simple house cleaning tips, you can make your kitchen a safe and clean place.

If you have standard appliances, you can make your own house cleaner solution with water and bleach. This is much less expensive than buying an anti-bacterial solution at the store; although, that would also be an option if you would prefer. Add one fourth cup of bleach to an empty, regular sized, spray bottle. Fill it up the rest of the way with water. Replace the lid and shake to combine the liquids. This is an effective house cleaner solution that will clean and disinfect countertops, stovetops, and other objects. Simply spray any area that needs to be cleaned and let the solution begin to work for a minute. Then use a damp, white towel to wipe away the bleach solution and rinse the area one more time. These are house cleaning tips that you may use in the kitchen and also in many other areas of the house. Be careful not to let this solution touch colored clothes or towels because it may cause discoloration. If you would prefer, you can use ammonia in your home-made house cleaner solution rather than bleach (but never mix them together).

If you’re short on time and have guests coming into town, getting your house ready can be a stressful task. Luckily, there are several ways to give the appearance of a new house without spending hours doing a deep clean. Take a look at the list below for some of the best ways to make your home shiny and clean in no time flat:

Sofa cushions – Are your sofa cushions looking worse for the wear? Make them look brand-new by flipping them over so your guests can’t see any stains or pet hair that may be on them. Or, drape a colorful blanket over the back of the sofa to cover any imperfections.

Towels – Take a look through your kitchen and bathroom. If you find stained towels, pick them up and refold them with the clean part facing out. Or, roll them up into cylinders and arrange them on a pyramid on your counter.

Dirty dishes – If the sink is full and you just don’t have time to empty the dishwasher, place the dirty dishes in a cabinet or large stockpot to get them out of the way – just don’t forget about them later!

Odd smells – Can you still smell last night’s dinner? To cover it up, light candles or incense around the house. Or, boil a combination of orange peels, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon on the stove to give the room a fresh, new smell.

Pet hair – Eliminate pet hair by using a lint roller. Roll it over your pillows and blankets, rugs, and other areas that collect hair throughout the house.

Many of us are often having a hard time to fix or clean the garage because most of them are full of chemicals, tools, old furniture, and other heavy stuff. If we check on each garage over the neighborhood, we can see cans, boxes, plastic containers, tools, old sofa bed, and so on lying on the floor or leaning on the wall. They are often unorganized and create more thrash than we think. In this regard, to clean the garage is not an easy task. Well, that maybe the case, we still need to fix or clean them properly to avoid any pests at home. Below are some of the most basic, yet helpful way on how to do it.

    1. We need to remove the car first. Clean and organize one side at a time.

    2. Make sure to organize each of the things that are in the garage. For old newspapers and magazines, we can put them on a large plastic box or we can put them on a plastic bag so that we can bring them later to a recycling company.

    3. Make sure that we categorize them according to their classification just like plastics, tin cans, paints, papers, old furniture, and so on. By doing so, we can easily determine which things should go to the thrash can, and those things that still have value.

    4. After putting them all on a side, start cleaning the ceiling followed by the wall and then the floor.

    5. Carry the stuff that we have organized a while back and properly put them on the cleaned area or cleaned part of the garage.

    6. Before we put some stuff on the cleaned area, we need to check carefully if we still need them or not. We should put them away in a garbage bag.
